Pamela Stansberry is an artist, musician, writer and healer who regards the journey of self-realization and healing as one that all of us take together. In her own life she has experienced radical healing as a result of making the choice to pray rather than commit suicide at the age of twenty-three. Leaving behind a past of childhood abuse, dysfunction, anorexia, years of self-medication, promiscuity and suicidal depression, Pamela dedicated her next twenty-three years to a higher path of intense spiritual awakening. Her personal story is incredibly unique. However, it relates well to the lives of many Americans.

In 1988, the author moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursues a career as a singer and songwriter. In her musical endeavors, she shared the stage with renowned recording artists such as John Prine, Ben Folds and Deana Carter. Pamela Stansberry’s original music has been described by a notable Nashville music publisher as, “Timeless – and in no way confined by the fashion of the day.” Her unique Appalachian-influenced music is a by-product of her growing up in the East Tennessee area. Both her voice and her artfully crafted songs are hauntingly beautiful. Additionally, Pamela performed as a member of the Nashville Symphony Choir for three seasons. However, she has felt it just as important for her to volunteer her time in the service of music ministry.

Being led by her spiritual calling, Pamela began studying several religions extensively. In 1994, she also began learning alternative methods of healing; nutritional regimes, herbal remedies and an energetic healing technique called Reiki. Healing became an important part of her life. As time passed, Pamela began experiencing an accelerated spiritual awakening. In 1996, she became a convert to Catholicism. In 2000, she sold her five-acre farm and briefly entered a Trappistine Monastery of the Strict Observance. Due to a debilitating illness, she was forced to begin life over again in the secular world. Since that time she has continued intensive studies in comparative religion, while working through many of her own personal issues in a process of developing deeper faith, emotional stability and greater awareness.

Pamela Stansberry’s life is interesting and singular. The personal details of her life are extraordinary. However, she always points out the fact that everyone has a story to tell. In her book, Attainable Saint, she focuses specifically on finding the innate divinity within the human experience. Her personal discoveries illuminate a path of practical spirituality, which should be beneficial to anyone of any faith.
